Days don't get better than today...

...I almost could skip my Lexapro.

The weather was just perfect...sunny, blue skies, warm, no humidity...

Had a cozy lunch with my wonderful wife...nothing terribly romantic - a sandwich in the local hole-in-the-wall place - but sometimes those moments are the best.

Followed lunch with some ice-cream (yes mental bliss came before physical health - perhaps that is why I feel I can skip the medication). A delightful treat of Chocolate Truffle Explosion....

An afternoon sailing - the wind was just right...strong and steady. No sudden gusts to tip your boat over. There will be much more about sailing later....

Low key dinner of soup and multiple appetizers at our favorite Chinese/Thai/Cambodian/Vietnamese/Laotian restaurant...

So it was not a glamorous day - one that will be etched in my memory for years and years, yet it was one of those days that makes you smile and say, "Yes, that was nice...."

No kvetching today....

I am not quite sure why I am starting this. Perhaps it is peer pressure or perhaps it will be just another form of procrastination. I guess it is better to employ my creativity rather than wasting hours playing the stupid online game that I am addicted to: Yahoo's PileUp. There are other things I *should* be doing, but I need to face it, I am not. So here I find myself entering this new world community.

Ruminations:

Ice-cream: the new alarmism in the press is that ice-cream is worse for you than previously thought. A single serving has more fat and calories than something like three Big Macs (hopefully there is no copyright infringement there - I would hate to get sued) or a rack of ribs. Why is something that is so good, so bad for you? My dilemma is whether to nurture my mental health at the expense of my physical health, or be unhappy living healthy.

Canker-sores: how can it be that something so small can be so annoying? As you may have guessed I am dealing with one in my mouth right now. Of course, the best thing to do is to leave it be, yet my tongue has a way of making its way over and continuously poke at the darned thing. I think that these wreched little sores are proof that the devil does exist.

Beachboy Music in Toyota Commercials: I don't mind the Beach Boys, but the continuous playing of a song (I am not even sure which one it is) in Toyota's summer commercials has become my pet peeve of the season. It is bad enough that it is on during almost every commercial break, now the local dealers have begun playing it during their homemade commercials. I know, the solution to this problem is quite simple - STOP WATCHING TV. This would actually be good for me, but will I? I highly doubt it....

More to come....

I think I finally have this thing up and running. So much to learn!!!!
