These are some of the few of the wetlands that remain around the island of Manhattan. They are on the northern tip of the island (and a few blocks from where we live). If you look carefully in the middle of the picture you can see a crane enjoying lunch.The "river" behind the mudflats is the Harlem River and behind that is the Bronx.
